Will Smith has proven he's the king of the US box office with another mega-hit movie - his latest release, Hitch, has made $45.3 million in its opening weekend.

The comedy, in which Smith plays a date doctor, knocked horror film Boogeyman off the top of the box office charts. That made $10.8 million in its second weekend on release.

The only other new entry in the top 10 is animated film Pooh's Heffalump Movie, which debuted at number five with a $6 million take.
