Selma in Cruel Intentions Credit: Columbia

This pretty dark-haired actress first impressed us as "victim" Cecile in Cruel Intentions. Then came a string of films in which the outspoken actress lost the guy, Legally Blonde among them. Well, now it's Selma's turn...bigtime. This "guy" is a "boy", Hellboy. He's big, red and crazy in love with her. That's okay. As Liz Sherman, Selma can take care of herself by, literally, setting his world on fire. Her portrayal of the young firestarter whose special power once destroyed all she loved, is sensitive and also kick-butt!

Selma has mellowed out a bit since we last spoke with her. She's now happily married to rock dynasty heir Ahmet Zappa, son of Frank Zappa and admits that she went through a huge attitude and life transformation; part of which started on the Hellboy set in Prague where she had time to herself to reflect on her life. Selma looked like a Goth Peter Pan when we spoke at L.A.'s posh 4 Seasons hotel. She wore a pretty sequined black top with sleeves and collar that came to points, and black slacks. We noticed a big cz costume ring on one hand and her beautiful sapphire engagement ring and wedding band on the other. The film's director Guillermo del Toro told us that he hired her because she had "a haunted quality behind her eyes".
