Hewitt Losing Good-Girl Image
Mar 21, 2001 - Maria Montoya
Jennifer Love Hewitt plays a heartbreaking hottie named Page in her new movie. At 22, she hopes Heartbreakers, a comedy opening Friday, will help her shed her good-girl image.
"In this movie, I am the Girl Next Door gone bad, very bad," says Hewitt, who co-stars with Sigourney Weaver as mother-daughter con artists. "My clothing is way more risqué than anything I would ever wear."
Think French maid outfits with bursting cleavage and lots of lingerie -- that's Page. Hewitt, on the other hand, claims to be insecure about her bombshell looks.
"People are constantly asking me who my doctor is and referring to my chest," says Hewitt, who swears by great bras and occasionally sports a T-shirt that says "Silicone Free."
"I don't understand what everyone's obsession with boobs is about. Every other person in the world has a pair."
The actress, who made her name playing sweet Sarah on the Fox family drama Party of Five (and its unsuccessful spinoff, The Time of Your Life ), graduated to films with hits such as the screamer flick I Know What You Did Last Summer.
She'd love to have a movie career like Julia Roberts' and land more sophisticated roles.
