Bibb Acts Her Age
Mar 1, 2001 - Jenny Peters
Look for "Popular" WB television star Leslie Bibb romancing David Arquette in the new comedy "See Spot Run" and you'll notice a bit of a discrepancy. In "Popular," she plays a high school teenager obsessed with her position in the social hierarchy; in "See Spot Run," she's the 20-something single mother of a 6-year-old boy.
"It was really refreshing to play my age and to play a mom," Bibb says, laughing. "I do have to figure out when the time will be when do I not want to play a teenager anymore." The 26-year-old actress says, "I think that your 20s and your 30s are amazing times, and I think that they're more interesting than your teens, and as a women, you have more power there and it just broadens your range."
She admits that there is one person who didn't buy her motherly act.
"My mom was cracking up, saying, "Yeah, you a mother!" And I was like, "Mom, actually it's not that funny. I have a dog," and she said, "Yeah, Jack the dog and a baby are not the same thing."
