Vanessa Hudgens has denied she is set to star in Twilight sequel New Moon - branding reports of a recent audition "just a rumour".

The High School Musical star was said to be trying out for the part of female werewolf Leah Clearwater for the highly anticipated second film in Stephenie Meyer's vampire franchise.

But a representative for the star has dismissed the reports, telling eCanadanow.com, "I don't know anything about the audition. As far as I know, it's just a rumour."
