Scarlett Johansson has the secret to success - hard work and a touch of good fortune.

The Lost In Translation star hit the big time aged 13 in 1998 movie The Horse Whisperer and has since gone on to feature in a number of highly-acclaimed movies.

The 24-year-old was always sure she'd star in films, and credits hard work with helping her achieve her life-long ambition.

She tells Moviehole.net, "I wanted to make movies since I was three years old, so I guess my perspective on it is that I was more than surprised by success.

"I feel incredibly lucky to have had success, because I'd seen and I know so many talented people that never get the opportunity. But I am a big believer that putting in the actual hours is kind of what makes a successful career and a lot of luck too, of course.
