Paris Hilton has been caught up in a police drug bust - after her name was used by a drunk driver arrested by Australian police.

Mehmet Gulasi, 39, was pulled over by cops in the early hours of New Year's Day. Gulasi told the authorities he was speeding in a friend's Range Rover because he was on his way to pick up socialites Hilton and Brandon Davis.

Officers conducted a roadside breath test and discovered Gulasi was well over the legal limit, according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph. They then found what they believed to be cocaine on his person, together with assorted pills in Gulasi's wallet.

He was later charged with possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing or attempting to possess a prescribed restricted substance and driving with an expired licence.

Hilton and her sister Nicky rang in the New Year in Sydney. Reports suggest police are convinced the heiresses had nothing to do with Gulasi and he simply used their names when pulled over by the authorities.
