Hairspray actress Nikki Blonsky has had assault charges against her dropped after she was accused of brawling with model Bianca Golden at an airport in July.

The 20-year-old was detained in the Turks and Caicos Islands along with her father, Carl Blonsky, and America's Next Top Model star Golden after a fight broke out in the holiday destination's airport lounge.

The altercation between Blonsky and Golden at the Providenciales International Airport was alleged to have started after the actress attempted to save seats for her family, leaving Golden and her mother with nowhere to sit.

Blonsky was charged with assault and actual bodily harm following the incident, but the charges against the star have now been dropped. Golden - who was accused of actual bodily harm - has also seen the charges against her dismissed.

Turks and Caicos Police Sergeant Calvin Chase says, "The cases against Nikki Blonsky and Bianca Golden have been dropped. The only case that is still proceeding is against (Blonsky's) father."

Carl Blonsky has pleaded not guilty to grievous bodily harm and could face up to five years in prison.
