Superstar Beyonce Knowles is determined to make her marriage to Jay-Z last - because she has been inspired to forge a longterm partnership by her parents.

The R+B star married the hip-hop mogul in a secret ceremony in New York in April.

And while Knowles is aware there will be tough times ahead, she is adamant their marriage will survive as long as they follow the example of her mum and dad, Mathew and Tina.

She tells Giant magazine, "My parents are tighter now than ever, but they've been through it all. There were times when they were together, times when they were apart. I learned that it's a lot of hard work, that it's more than a dress."
