Benji Madden is feeling "fine" after his break-up with Paris Hilton, according to twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Joel.

The couple announced their nine-month relationship had come to an end on Wednesday, and Hilton confirmed the pair were "taking a break" from each other.

But despite the split Madden is coping well, according to his twin.

He tells Access Hollywood, "He's a good guy and he'll be fine and she'll be fine. They'll both be fine. I don't think at the end of the day anyone reading it was like 'Oh my gosh! What is he gonna do?' or 'What is she gonna do?' Everyone was kind of like, 'Oh.'

"I think that Benj - he does his best, when he is with someone, to adapt to what they're into or whatever? He's down though, he doesn't care, he doesn't judge. He accepts anything."

Reports suggested that Benji was jealous of Hilton meeting up with her ex Stavros Niachros - but Joel refutes the rumours.

He adds, "He's not possessive, but he's very clear about what he's cool with. Very clear? (He) speaks his mind."

And even though the couple have gone their separate ways, Hilton will remain a presence within the Madden family, because her longtime pal Nicole Richie is dating Joel.
