British movie hunk Rob Pattinson has his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart to thank for his role in the vampire love story - because she refused to act out love scenes with other contenders for the role.

Stewart performed a pivotal love scene with the four wannabes up for the part of dishy vampire Edward, but there was only one guy for the job as far as she was concerned.

She tells Life + Style magazine, "I was like, 'Are you joking? I can't do the movie unless Rob does it... I basically cast Rob."

And the feeling was mutual for Pattinson: "When I got into the room with Kristen, there was just a certain chemistry. She's basically the reason I did the movie."
