The popular D.C. Comics graphic novel "Watchmen" books are being adapted for the screen and TeenHollywood got a preview from young 300 director Zack Snyder who screened some impressive footage from the film recently at an L.A. studio. He also admitted that tackling the vast project that some have called "unfilmable" has not put him in the mood to think of a sequel. He feels he's telling the whole story. "They might find somebody to do a prequel but it wouldn't be me. That's crazy talk". Zack said that the current cut runs "over two hours". We were able to check out detailed costumes and superhero Nite-Owl's bug-like car for the film in which two costumed heroes have a steamy "hook up".

For the uninitiated, "Watchmen" is based on the mega-popular mid-1980's graphic novel/comics by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons who created an alternate history of the United States where costumed adventurer/heroes are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. A diverse group of past and present heroes and superheroes confront a murder of one of their own. These "heroes" are mostly real people. Only one has "super powers". These books are pretty R-rated for comics and, from what we saw, the screen images will be very beautiful, almost "art-film" in style and just as impressive as was Snyder's version of 300.
