Teen Choice 2008: Highlights
Aug 4, 2008 - Lynn Barker
We are live at the 10th Annual Teen Choice awards, reporting on a hot summer day from a press tent outside Universal Studios' Gibson Amphitheater. Outside, nominees and presenters are sweltering on the blue (rather than red) carpet.

Host Miley Cyrus did a fine job, although she announced at the beginning of the show that this was "the biggest music awards show in the world", leaving out TV, Film, Sports, etc. but hey, her hosting expertise improved from there and her "7 Things I Hate About You" performance was a highlight.
The big dance-off between Miley and pal Mandy's M&M Cru and Step Up 2 the Streets, actor Adam Sevani and director Jon Chu's ACDC crew was hosted by Fergie and judged by a "noise-o-meter" that indicated audience screaming had picked the M&M dancers as the winners! It was, however, a close race.

Actor Rainn Wilson of "The Office" and the upcoming comedy The Rocker called the awards "the Adolescent Decision Awards" and held up Jonas Brothers dolls which "praised" how cool he is in his new movie. Winners were announced by the presenters unrolling large beach towels with the winner's name on them. Gorgeous David Beckham (winner of the "Choice Male Athlete" award) and three adorable young sons win this reporter's "OMG How Cute is That?" award as the boys first hid behind dad's award surfboard then break-danced on stage before the mega-soccer-star could herd them off!
