Disney star Selena Gomez is playing down her feud with Miley Cyrus, insisting the media has dreamed up the catfight.

Cyrus has apologised for poking fun at Gomez and pal Demi Lovato in an online video.

The mocking montage sent gossips into a spin, with many speculating Cyrus' actions were prompted by reports her ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas is now dating Gomez - which the pair have denied.

But Cyrus has insisted she was "just having fun," and Gomez, the star of kids show The Wizards of Waverly Place, accepts she meant no harm: "It's just the media wanting something to talk about and wanting us to fight, and there's nothing there to talk about."

And to prove there are no hard feelings between her and Cyrus, Gomez reveals she has just bought the teen sensation's new album: "I really like her Cd."
