We checked out two DVDs featuring older teens and 20-somethings in radically different situations. Stop-Loss, deals with young, Texan guys in the Iraq war who've suffered terrible losses. They return home only to find that one of them will be sent back against his will. In the film 21, at posh M.I.T., top brainiac students bond together in a card counting club to take the Vegas Casinos by storm.

Stop-Loss
Ryan Phillippe, Channing Tatum, Abbie Cornish and Joseph Gordon-Levitt live in the American southwest. The guys have been in the Iraq war and have suffered terrible losses. They've returned home only to find that they can't adjust and Ryan's character will be sent back against his will by "stop-loss" orders. Will he make a run for it or return as ordered?
Video/Audio: The widescreen transfer is clean, color is fine and details are sharp. There are a few "amateur", shaky, documentary-style videos in the film and they look appropriately amateurish. The Dolby Digital 5.1 audio gives you the loud and frightening sounds of battle and street fighting in a great surround mix and you can hear all dialogue quite well. Well done.
