Maggie Gyllenhaal hates choosing her dresses for high-profile film premieres - because the press always criticise her outfits.

The actress has admitted to having a few fashion mishaps when it comes to red carpet couture, and admits she has been left heartbroken by the media's harsh critiques.

She tells the Marie Claire magazine, "Sometimes it freaks me out. I've been so hurt and felt so bad."

But Gyllenhaal insists she is learning to accept the criticism, adding: "People will always say mean things about you if you put yourself out there."
