Will Smith's superhero antics in Hancock has landed him at number one on the global box office chart.

The action film took $78.3 million over the weekend, leaving animated comedy Kung Fu Panda far behind in second place with $38 million.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is at number three with $24.3 million, while former chart topper Wanted slips to number four with $18.8 million and Wall-E rounds out the top five with $13 million.
