Britney Spears father Jamie has quit his job as a caterer to dedicate himself full-time to overseeing his daughter's business affairs.

Jamie Spears was appointed conservator of the star's legal and financial affairs in February and is in charge of her estate - with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet - until July 31st.

And now, according to court papers, the pop star's father has taken on a full-time position as conservator - being awarded a $2,500 weekly salary for the role.

Spears was also awarded a $10,000 lump-sum to cover the first month of his co-conservatorship over his daughter's estate, according to U.s. publication People.com.

The court documents also give the reason why he needs to quit his job as a caterer, with the papers stating the responsibilities of conservator "have required (his) full-time attention".

There will be a further court hearing on May 29th to discuss monetary matters in greater detail.

And it seems Spears' role over-looking the singer's affairs is paying off - since he was appointed conservator in February, the 26-year-old has secured expanded visitation rights with her two sons; Sean Preston and Jayden James.
