Film Review: Made of Honor
May 2, 2008 - Lynn Barker
In Made of Honor, perky Michelle Monaghan has to choose between two McHotties! There's Scottish hunk Kevin McKidd (of "Rome" and "Journeyman" on TV) and Dr. McDreamy himself Patrick Dempsey! What's not to like?

Patrick plays Tom, a serial dating machine who meets classy Hannah (Michelle) in college. She won't hook up with him so they are instant friends. Ten years later, he's invented the coffee "sleeve" (those little thingeys that go over your hot take-out coffee cup) so, he's rich, hot and single. Girls are lining up. Hannah has always loved him but remains the loyal galpal cuz Tom won't commit and is packed with dating "rules" that keep girls at arm's length.
Michelle goes to Scotland for six weeks on business, cutemeets hunky nobleman Colin (Kevin McKidd) when her rent-a-car is blocked by a herd of Scottish cattle, falls for him and gets engaged! Finally, clueless Tom realizes what he's losing. Hey, he wants to be more than friends... forever. Does Hannah still have feelings for him? She's asked him to be her "Maid" of Honor! Can he go to Scotland and turn things around before it's too late?
Patrick and Michelle have some believable, fun chemistry in this film. The Scottish locations (Isle of Skye) are just breathtaking. I could have done without some of Tom's guypals who awkwardly help him strategize how to use his Maid of Honor tag to win Hannah over but the film comes alive whenever Patrick, Michelle or Kevin McKidd are on screen.
