Rapper Lil' Wayne has been indicted on drugs and weapons charges after he was arrested in Arizona last month.

At an arraignment hearing on Friday the 25-year-old - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and misconduct involving weapons.

The rapper's tour bus was stopped on January 22nd at a U.s. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, Arizona, Federal agents searched the bus and arrested Carter after reportedly finding marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia as well as a 40-caliber pistol.

Carter is due back in court on March 7th for a status hearing.

But his attorney James Tilson has insisted the star's forthcoming U.s. tour will not be affected.

Carter was previously arrested on drugs charges in Atlanta, Georgia in 2006. He is also currently facing illegal gun possession charges and is due to appear in court in New York to face those counts on February 25th.
