Wanna know how to make your studies of ancient literature less boring? Let the computer wizards put them on the big screen in 3-D and cast Angelina Jolie as a hot seductress! Hey, I read "Beowulf" in school. It's the oldest surviving epic poem in the English language and it's a bit hard to comprehend. Goes like this; A kingdom is besieged by a demon/monster named Grendel and it badly needs a hero. Mighty warrior Beowulf to the rescue. By destroying Grendel, the beefy hunk incurs the truly pissed off wrath of the monster's super seductive mom (played by Angelina Jolie in some really hot motion capture) who is out for bigtime revenge!
Press wanted to know how the gorgeous actress handled playing a computerized demon hottie, how she responded upon first seeing her buff, golden image in the film and what kinds of epic fantasy tales did she enjoy as a kid and teen. We didn't care about rumors of weight loss (she looks good) or Brangelina. In front of press in Beverly Hills, recently, Angelina shared her adventure.
Q: Had you read the original poem?
Angelina: Yes, I had read it years and years ago, and I hardly remembered it. I think I read it half asleep as well. It's one of those great stories that you know the themes of it. You take away the themes and you never forget. But, when I read the script, it wasn't fresh enough in my mind to compare it, and it wouldn't be at this moment, even.
