Reggae star Beenie Man has been freed on bail by a judge in his native Jamaica after appearing in court on charges of tax evasion.

An arrest warrant was issued for Beenie Man - real name Anthony Moses Davis - last week after he failed to attend court to answer the charges.

The Dude hitmaker owes the Jamaican revenue department $415,000 and a further $246,000 in penalties. He claims he was unaware he owed the money, and blamed his business managers for the slip-up.

But after turning up to his latest court hearing on Monday a judge decided to release the 34-year-old on $21,100 bail.

He is due back in court on December 3rd.
