Kale (Shia) searching for evidence

Disturbia is the little thriller that could. It did major box office and helped launch the movie career of star Shia LaBeouf. You know the drill, Shia is Kale Brecht, a cool 17-year-old who has been acting out at school since the sudden death of his dad in a horrible car crash. Kale was driving and can't stop grieving. When a teacher makes a crack about his dad, Kale loses it and punches him. This result is house arrest. Kale must wear an ankle bracelet that will call the cops if he goes out of bounds.

Facing his bummer sentence, Kale is really to play X-box and kick it with his i-tunes until his hot mom (played by post-Matrix Carrie-Anne Moss) takes those away. Sooo, bored out of his mind, Kale starts spying on the neighbors, especially a totally hot girl named Ashley (Sarah Roemer) who moves in next door. Teaming up with his buddy played by Aaron Yoo, Kale confides that he hopes to one day hook up with Sarah. Eventually, the two meet, become close and start spying on the neighbor on the other side of Kale. The movie goes all Rear Window on us at this point and the trio has to both stop and avoid the guy next door (David Morse) who is courting Kale's mom and... uh, murdering people right and left!
