Movie Review: John Tucker Must Die
Jul 28, 2006 - Lynn Barker
You are dating your dream man and it's just the two of you... forever, right? Wrong! Some "dream" guys are overloaded in the dreamgirl department. John Tucker could be elected king of these dudes!

Uber-pop basketball jock John Tucker (Jesse Metcalfe) is the playah supreme at his high school. He's dating three girls at once. Since they are from different cliques, they don't talk to each other and are clueless. The gals, head cheerleader Heather (Ashanti), environmental crusader Beth (Sophia Bush) and brainy Carrie (Arielle Kebbel) finally get a clue of course and, with the aid of shy-ish new gal Kate (Brittany Snow), start plotting great revenge to discredit and embarrass "J.T.".

Turns out Tucker is also the king of spin. Everything the girls do, John spins into a positive and he comes up smelling like roses. Final plan involves talking Kate into getting close to the jerk, making him fall for her and then... dump him! Of course, she falls for Tucker and he at least seems to fall for her. Will she actually change him?
In the spirit of Clueless and Mean Girls, this high school comedy presents some clever dialogue, good acting and some relatable goings on with a few larger-than-life twists. You'll recognize yourself or your pals in one or more of the girls or guys.
