Director Robert Luketic is finalising key cast members for the big screen version of Dallas including, Jennifer Lopez, Luke Wilson, John Travolta and Shirley Maclaine.

The classic 1980's TV show chronicled the exploits of wealthy Texas oil millionaires and their shady business dealings and dysfunctional personal lives.

Travolta will star as Jr Ewing, Lopez will play Sue Ellen Ewing, Wilson will star as Bobby Ewing, and MacLaine will play Miss Ellie Ewing.

Negotiations with the actors are in the final stages and production of the film is likely to commence in October, after Travolta has finished his starring role in the big screen version of the Broadway hit Hairspray.
