Reese Witherspoon's romantic comedy Just Like Heaven has knocked The Exorcism Of Emily Rose from the top of the US box office after debuting with a haul of $16.5 million.

In its second weekend, horror film The Exorcism of Emily Rose earned $15.3 million.

Lord Of War, starring Nicolas Cage as an arms dealer pursued by Interpol agent Ethan Hawke, debuted in third place with $9.2 million.

The 40 Year-Old Virgin continued its successful run, moving to fourth place with $5.8 million, followed by Cry Wolf, which opened with $4.6 million.
