One-On-One With Orlando
Aug 29, 2005 - Lynn Barker
Picture this; I'm sure it will seem familiar. You're sitting on your bedroom floor in your stained, oversized t-shirt and purple pajama pants with silly cartoon frog princes on them that say "pucker up" (or something beyond ugly like that) and the phone rings. With me so far? You say "hello" and this soft English-accented voice says "Hi, Orlando here". OMG, Orlando Bloom just phoned you!! Thank God everyone doesn't have camera phones! Seeing him would be great but him seeing you... like this? No way! "Yeah, right" you say, "nice dream". But, we swear it's true. Sure, the call was all pre-arranged, but fun none-the-less.

We were one of a tiny handful of websites and magazines getting to ask the mega-hunk some early questions about his new film with Kirsten Dunst Elizabethtown, due out in October, and learned that the playful actor pulled a schoolboy prank by putting a leaf down the back of Kirsten's shirt and telling her it was a bug (we'll explain). We also got info on who Orlando would still most like to work with (Paul Newman), the latest charm on that famous necklace he wears and what he'd love to be doing today if he wasn't stuck talking to members of the press!
Poor exhausted Orlando was accenting our talk with a few yawns after a long day in front of cameras and on the phone but he was always cordial even when avoiding detailed answers on a couple of questions. By the end of our talk he was taking our advice on how to chill out! Here's the scoop!
