Ne-Yo Happy With Movie Debut, Keen for More Roles
R&B star Ne-Yo is diving into more acting work - because he made a bet with himself that he'd stick to singing if his big screen debut was an embarrassment.
The hitmaker admits he's quite proud of his performance in new movie Battle: Los Angeles, in which he plays an alien-fighting soldier, and now he knows he's got what it takes to be a movie star.
The So Sick singer says, "I told myself that if I sucked in this film I was gonna just stick to music but I think I did Ok, so I think I can tackle something else.
"My dream job would be action and sci-fi and I'm a huge martial arts buff. I love martial arts films. I would want to do a quality martial arts film.
"What I mean by that is you watch a martial arts film and there's a part that's a little bit lacking. The action is always important but sometimes the story is a little 'eh' and the acting is a little 'eh', so I would want to do a martial arts film where you just pull all the great elements of film together and the action, the story and the acting is great."
