Harry Potter Casts a Spell on Thanksgiving

The new Harry Potter movie made Thanksgiving Day magical by taking a massive $14.5 million at the American box office on Thursday.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, grossed $125.1 million  in the U.S. in its first weekend of release and it looks set to rule the box office for a second week after dominating the festive holiday.

Disney's Tangled came second in the Thanksgiving rundown with $11.6 million and Christina Aguilera's debut movie Burlesque came a long way behind in third with just $2.8 million.

The top five is rounded out by Megamind in fourth and Love and Other Drugs at five.
