Angelina Jolie is desperate for a chance to play the evil Maleficent in a new Sleeping Beauty adaptation - because she "loved" the fairytale when she was a little girl.
The Tomb Raider star is said to be in the running for the upcoming movie, a retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale from the perspective of the princess' nemesis.
And she is lobbying for Tim Burton to sign up to direct the project - because she's always wanted to work with the filmmaker.
Jolie tells MTV.com, "I would love to. It's all new and being discussed, but I loved her when I was a little girl. She was my favourite. Tim Burton, the chance to work with him would be extraordinary."
