Fans Injured at Selena Gomez Event

Selena Gomez's appearance at a shopping centre in Massachusetts descended into chaos on Saturday - with three fans hospitalised as they clamoured to see their idol.

The Wizards of Waverly Place star was taking part in a question and answer (Q&A) session at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro and hundreds of devotees turned up to glimpse the star.

But an escalator in the centre came to an abrupt halt, sending several fans flying.

Five people were injured, and three were taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to TMZ.com.
