Rob Pattinson No Longer Fights Stewart Romance Rumours

Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson has given up attempting to play down rumours of a romance with co-star Kristen Stewart - because the press always find a way to twist his words.

The actor has become tabloid fodder since shooting to fame in the vampire franchise and his close relationship with Stewart, who plays his love interest in the Twilight movies, has sparked claims of a real-life secret romance.

Both stars have continually denied the reports and Pattinson admits he has quit trying to convince reporters there is nothing romantic between them.

He tells Vanity Fair magazine, "It doesn't make any difference what you say (to the tabloids). I've literally been across the country (from Kristen), and it's like 'Oh, they were on secret dates!' It's like 'Where? I can't get out of my hotel room!"

But Pattinson treasures Stewart's friendship because she is unfazed by fame and understands what he's going through.

He adds, "She's influenced how I've done all the Twilight stuff. It's quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything."
