Linsday Can't Do Charity Work
Actress Lindsay Lohan has blasted the media for criticising her whenever she tries to do some good for charity, because the press dismisses her efforts as "publicity stunts".
Lohan has become a tabloid favourite since shooting to Hollywood stardom in 2004's Mean Girls at the age of 18.
But the press turned against her in 2007 after the party girl found herself facing a number of legal troubles, including two arrests for driving under the influence (Dui) and a stint in rehab to fight drug addiction.
And Lohan, who insists her wild lifestyle is now a thing of the past, is angry the unwanted paparazzi attention has forced her to scale back on her charitable gestures.
She tells America's Interview magazine, "You know what's hard? I want to give back. I want to do all the things that will make me feel fulfilled.
"But whenever I do those things, people think it's a press stunt or something. Because they (paparazzi) do find me, and there's really no way of hiding from that.
"And the second that you complain about it, they say, 'Well, this is what you wanted, so this is what you're going to get.' That's all people see it as now. It's not, 'No, I just want to have some time for myself.' There are things I want to do, and people don't understand that."
