Robert Pattinson is Hollywoods Biggest Hearthrob!

British actor Robert Pattinson cemented his position as Hollywood's newest heartthrob after fans and fellow celebrities mobbed him at the Twilight premiere after-party.

The 22-year-old, who plays a handsome vampire in the movie adaptation of the cult series of books, caused hysteria as he walked the red-carpet at the eagerly anticipated film's world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday.

And the fan's furore didn't melt away at the event's official afterparty, where he was constantly surrounded by a ten-deep mob of admirers eager for a snap with the actor.

According to E! Online, Pattinson's new-found popularity reached such levels, even Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx had to push his way through the crowds so his teenage daughter could meet her idol.

Movie siren Kim Basinger was also one of the stars keen to get close to the young hunk - she posed for snaps with Pattinson alongside her daughter Ireland.

It's not the first time Pattinson has had to deal with the crazy ways of fanatics - last month thousands of fans surged out of control at a signing in California, forcing security personnel to scrap the event after one girl reportedly suffered a broken nose and another fainted as people fought for a glimpse of the actor.
