High School Musical 3 Rakes It In
High School Musical 3: Senior Year has claimed its second week at the top of the U.S. box office chart, raking in an additional $15 million.
The Disney movie, which stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, set a new record last weekend for a musical after trumping the $27.8 million Mamma Mia! opened with in July.
The musical beat Seth Rogen comedy Zack and Miri Make a Porno, which took in $10.7 million to debut at two.
Horror flick Saw V dropped one spot to number three in its second week of release, with $10.1 million.
Soaring to the fourth spot is Angelina Jolie's new film Changeling, which made the jump from its debut at 20 last week, taking in $9.4 million.
Meanwhile science fiction film The Haunting of Molly Hartley - starring Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford - took in $6 million for its debut to round out the top five.
