Blake Lively's Dad Seriously Hurt in Accident

Actress Blake Lively has dashed home to Los Angeles from New York after her father was seriously injured in a car crash.

The Gossip Girl star's actor dad, Ernie Lively, was rushed to hospital, where he is being treated for a broken back and arm, according to reports.

The accident took place on Monday.

A family source tells America's Star magazine, "He's lucky to be alive."

The actress was on the first flight back to Los Angeles after hearing the news, according to the source: "They are as close as any father and daughter could be. She was beside herself when she got this horrible news."
