Gosling To Cash In After Missing Out On Oscar Gold

Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling was secretly praying his name wouldn't be read out at the Academy Awards last night - because he'd be left seriously out of pocket if it was.

The Notebook star, who earned a Best Actor nomination for his role in Half Nelson, bet friends he wouldn't even get an Oscars nod - and when he did they all insisted he pay up.

So, Gosling offered his pals the chance to double up their winnings by betting against himself on Oscar night.

Speaking before his big night at the Academy Awards, he says, "In some ways I would have felt better (if I wasn't nominated), because I had bet a lot of money that I wasn't going to get it.

"I thought I would come into a good chunk of change.

"I'm going to give everyone the opportunity to double their money. I'll make it back."
