Simpson Wins A Car

Jessica Simpson was a big winner at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Thursday even though she wasn't nominated for an award - she drove away a brand new car.

The singer/actress, who presented the Best Dance Video prize to The Pussycat Dolls, was among the celebrities who took part in a Chrysler promotion at a pre-VMAs party.

Stars were invited to pick a key from a large bowl and if their pick started a nearby Crossfire convertible, they drove it home. Simpson picked the right key.

She said, "I can't believe I won. I'm in shock."

Ironically, Simpson's ex-husband Nick Lachey also picked a key in the promotion minutes before - he wasn't as lucky as his former wife.
