Lachey's 'Awkward' Teen Choice Moments With Simpson
Nick Lachey felt uncomfortable picking up his Best Love Song award at the Teen Choice Awards last night - because his ex-wife and the tune's inspiration Jessica Simpson was hosting the ceremony.
Simpson and her Employee Of The Month co-star Dane Cook presented the star-studded bash at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, where Lachey picked up two gongs - Love Song for What's Left Of Me and Red Carpet Fashion Icon, Male.
Accepting his trophy for the song, which he wrote after his 2005 break-up with Simpson, Lachey said, "I just want to start off by saying, awkward, a little bit."
During his acceptance speech, a fan yelled, "Take that, Jessica."
Other exes who tried to avoid each other at the ceremony, were One Tree Hill co-stars Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray, who currently are in the middle of divorce proceedings.
Bush presented the Love Song award to Lachey, while her estranged husband also presented a trophy. He brought his teenage fiancee Kenzie Dalton along as his date.
