Foxx May Star in 'The Power of Duff'

Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx will produce "The Power of Duff," a movie about a Rochester, N.Y., TV news anchor who prays on the air.
Foxx -- who won the best actor Oscar for his performance in "Ray" -- will produce the new movie with his manager, Jamie Rucker King, and Marc Platt Productions.
Universal Pictures won a bidding war for the screenplay by Stephen Belber, in which the TV anchor starts praying on air for certain events to occur -- and is seen variously as a prophet, a pundit and a fake when the prayers are answered, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Platt is the producer of smash hit "Wicked" on Broadway. His film producing credits include "Legally Blonde," "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde" and "Honey."
