Hathaway Terrified By Streep

Anne Hathaway was terrified when she had to shoot scenes for her new film The Devil Wears Prada with Meryl Streep, because she was incredibly intimidated by the acting legend.

The 23-year-old found working with The Hours star left her petrified, but also forced her to raise the level of her own performance.

She explains, "Acting against her was like taking a cold bath of terror every day. I was always ready to wet my pants."

The actress had to overcome being typecast from her movie The Princess Diaries and prove she could take on more challenging adult roles before landing the lead role in the film.

She adds, "Meryl had to see Brokeback Mountain before she believed that I was good enough to act against."

"Nothing against Princess Diaries, but it has been a brick wall in the past."
