Britney Spears and fellow pop-icon, Jessica Simpson, could find themselves in one serious Paris Hilton-Nicole Richie brawl if Life & Style Weekly's latest news item rings true.

The celebrity rag reports that newly single Simpson was the object of Kevin Federline's affection the other night at a Tinseltown club. According to a spy, K-Fed "made a beeline," for Simpson and "she invited him to sit down."

The spy insists "there was definitely some chemistry there." Reps for the two insist they're just old friends.
