"Rush Hour 3" Rushing to Screen


The team behind the two hit "Rush Hour" comedies has signed on for "Rush Hour 3" which will be rushed into production next year and hit screens in summer 2007, according to Variety on Monday.

The movie will star Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, with director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson also rejoining the sequel about the American and Chinese detectives whose different crime-fighting styles provide plenty of laughs while they nab the criminals.

According to the report, the budget for the movie will be 120 million dollars, with Tucker earning 20 millions dollars and Chan taking home 15 million dollars. Chan will also own the film's distribution rights in China and Hong Kong.

"Rush Hour 2" was released in 2001 and earned 556 million dollars worldwide. The original "Rush Hour" was originally released in 1998 and earned 224 million dollars.
