Black Eyed Peas Pals With Diaz

Black Eyed Peas star Fergie thanks actress Cameron Diaz for sparking her passion for surfing.

Although Diaz is the current girlfriend of her former beau Justin Timberlake, Fergie has forged a close friendship with the Charlie's Angels star - and is eternally grateful she "encouraged" her to take up the water sport.

And the singer insists there is no rivalry between the pair over Timberlake - who Diaz started dating last year (03) - because her romance with the 'N Sync star was never that serious.

She explains, "It was a flirt fest. He was 17, I was 23. At first I wouldn't date him because he was too young.

"It was never serious, but we had a bond."
