Tom Cruise charms Brits at premiere
Actor Tom Cruise arrived early to the London premiere of "Collateral," spending two-and-a-half hours signing autographs and chatting with fans.
Cruise, who stars in the action thriller, was the first of the film's stars to show up outside Leicester Square's UCI Empire theater Thursday, emerging from a cab bearing the film's title to meet the crowd of more than 3,000, BBC reported Friday.
"London is the best place to have a premiere. Sometimes people can get a bit jaded but everybody here has a great time," Cruise said.
Cruise signed photos of himself, posed for pictures and talked on fans' cell phones as he made his way through the lines of people.
"He never has a problem meeting fans. He comes down and shakes hands with people all the time," said Jamie Foxx, who co-stars with the 42-year-old actor.
Foxx, co-star Jada Pinkett Smith and director Michael Mann arrived at the theater later.
