Simpson's Sister Show

Jessica Simpson's younger sister is set to appear in her own reality TV show.

Ashlee Simpson will star in a six-episode series entitled 'Ashlee', which will follow her ambition to go from an actress to a singer.

The show will be aired on MTV this summer and will give an insight into the 19-year-old's private and professional life.

Ashlee revealed: "My series will show people all the hard work it takes to cut an album, and I'm excited for everyone to see this and live it right along with me. I'm really proud of everything that I've accomplished and I can't wait for the MTV audience to see it for themselves!"

Lois Curren, an executive vice president at MTV, added: "Ashlee is talented and charismatic, and we are happy she is taking us along on her adventure in the music industry."

Jessica currently stars in MTV's hit show 'Newlyweds' with husband Nick Lachey, which follows the highs and lows of their celebrity marriage. It is now in its second series.
