Britney To Ditch Pop For Acting

Pop beauty Britney Spears is taking dramatic action over her faltering showbiz career - she's ditching singing in favor of acting.

Now her comeback pop album In The Zone has failed to return her to the top of the pop world, Britney has confirmed she will leave music behind for the next couple of years to work on her acting career.

Britney says, "I'm really taking my acting seriously as it's what I'm going to be concentrating on for the next few years."

It has been reported Spears is taking a role opposite Tim Allen in new comedy In The Pink.

The 22-year-old made her full big screen acting debut in 2002's Crossroads, which took more than double its $17 million budget at the box office.
