Kidman Still Cares For Cruise

Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman has stayed close to ex-husband Tom Cruise - even phoning him after her recent Academy Award win so they could share her victory.

In an interview with People magazine, Kidman explains, "Your heart has to stay loving."

She continues, "It was so important for me to talk to Connor (her son) and yes, to Tom. We have very different lives now, but as I've said to Tom, I will be there for him for the rest of his life, always there."

The pair - who met on 1990 movie Days of Thunder - divorced in 2001 after ten years of marriage.

Kidman also took the opportunity to once more refute claims of an affair with her Cold Mountain co-star Jude Law.

She says, "He's wonderful man and a good friend of mine, but there was no affair. We spent seven months shooting and it's an intense love story so we were waiting for that. They [the press] did it with Ewan McGregor too, on Moulin Rouge!."

And although flame-haired Kidman refers to herself as "very single", she still hasn't ruled out the possiblity of more romance in her life.

She says, "I want someone who says, 'I will stand by you and be there for you and your life is just as important to me as mine.'

"I like to be in love. Nothing casual. I'm not interested in casual. I'm waiting for someone to come rock my world."
