Renee Set To Play Marilyn

Oscar nominee Renee Zellweger is set to portray screen siren Marilyn Monroe in an upcoming film project.

The Chicago star is negotiating with producers about taking the role, which is part of a biopic of Bruno Bernard- who is credited with discovering the Some Like It Hot stunner.

His daughter Susan is in charge of the production and pitched the idea to Renee over a lunch date in Los Angeles last week.

She says, "Renee was absolutely fantastic in Chicago, but I have been a fan of her work for ages. I think she would be perfect for the role of Marilyn'.

However, whether Renee is willing to pile on the pounds to play the curvy superstar - as she did for Bridget Jones' Diary - remains to be seen.
