Denzel and Halle Clean Up At The Image Awards.

Actors Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett and Halle Berry have picked up awards at the annual NAACP Image Awards - a celebration of black cinema.

Actor-director Washington was the big winner with three awards while the film Brown Sugar which had eight nominations went home with nothing.

Denzel won best actor for his role in John Q, best supporting actor for his role in Antwone Fisher and as the director and producer of Fisher, he accepted that movie's award for best picture.

Bassett won two awards, best TV actress for The Rose Parks Story and best movie actress for her role in Sunshine State.

Halle Berry won best supporting actress for her role in the James Bond film Die Another Day.
